On Thursday, November 21th, 2024 the International Society for Laboratory Hematology will host a webinar in the 2024 e-Learning series: "Examples of Inherited Platelet Disorders: a Case-based Approach".
The webinar will be held by Jose Rivera Pozo, MD, Centro Regional de Hemodonación, Murcia, Spain.
Overview:
In this presentation, we introduce the IPD, which is a heterogeneous group of rare diseases due to molecular abnormalities in gene that are relevant to platelet formation and function.
These diseases are the focus of the Grupo Español de Alteraciones Plaquetarias Congénitas (GEAPC). Our group has led the diagnosis and research of OID in Spain since 2008, and our IPD series includes about 400 patients representing 45 different types of IPD.
In this talk, I will summarize the novel diagnosis and characterization of some very rare IPD in our project.
Learning Objectives:
- To have a general view of IPD
- To understand how a national scale project in IPD can be set and work to benefit the diagnosis and clinical management of IPD patients
- To learn how to approach the clinical, laboratory and molecular diagnosis of rare IPD patients
We look forward to your participation in this event!
