The aim of our study is to analyze the clinical features and the evolution in 36 months of 7 patients with confirmed serological positivity for anti-midbody antibodies at high titre.
Initial clinical diagnosis was “early” undifferentiated connective tissue disease, and patients were treated with continuous therapy based on hydroxychloroquine.
After 36 months, the clinical features of the patients were similar to baseline, even if with typical scleroderma-like signs.
According to some other cases in literature, the presence of anti-midbody antibodies seems to be related to pre-systemic sclerosis.
Key-words: anti-midbody, UCTD, scleroderma.
