Epidemiological data indicate that a significant proportion of the population (above 20%) suffers from hypertension, with a higher prevalence of women than men, and always with a steady upward trend with the years. In the diagnostic workup of patients with hypertension, the Laboratory interacts with both the general practitioner to assess the main parameters of metabolism and the identification of risk factors, and with the endocrinologist in the evaluation of patients with suspected hyperaldosteronism and renovascular hypertension.
