ISLH Webinar Series: August 2025
12/08/2025
On Thursday, August 21th, at 11:00 AM ET (17:00 PM CET) 2025 the International Society for Laboratory Hematology will host a webinar in the 2025 e-Learning series: "Atypical and abnormal Lymphocytes in Respect to Morphology".
The webinar will be held by Olga Pozdnyakova, MD, PhD, University of Pennsylvania, PA, USA,
Gina Zini, Università Cattolica del S. Cuore, Rome, Italy, will be the Moderator.
Overview:
Workup of even the most complicated clinical case starts with a CBC and a morphologic evaluation of peripheral blood smear (PBS). PBS contains important, and sometimes even diagnostic, clues that help direct further clinical evaluation. This workshop presentation will focus on PBS presenting with lymphocytosis and/or atypical lymphocyte morphology. Using a case-based approach, the participants will learn to recognize the morphologic findings that differentiate between reactive and neoplastic lymphocytes, as well as the clues to various lymphomas and leukemias, such as chronic lymphocytic leukemia, hairy cell leukemia, etc. Comprehensive review of PBS is essential for guiding expeditious and targeted ancillary testing.
Learning Objectives:
-
Identify morphologic findings associated with reactive or neoplastic lymphocytosis
-
Recognize the most common lymphocyte morphologies
-
Facilitate expeditious and targeted ancillary testing
We look forward to your participation in this event! There is no charge to participate in the live webinar.
