On Thursday, October 16th 2025, at 11:00 AM ET (17:00 PM CET) the International Society for Laboratory Hematology will host a webinar in the 2025 e-Learning series: "Hematological Health Emergencies".
The webinar will be presented by Archana Agarwal, MD, University of Utah Health Sciences/ARUP Laboratory, UT, USA, Jessica Opie, MD, MRCP(UK) FRCPA (Haem), will be the Moderator.
Overview:
This talk will provide a concise overview of critical hematological emergencies encountered in clinical practice including “acute promyelocytic leukemia, and microangiopathic hemolytic anemia”.
Learning Objectives:

Become familiar with the morphologic and flow cytometric spectrum of malignant promyelocytes.

Learn the current recommendations of identifying and reporting schistocytes.

Be able to recommend appropriate additional testing in suspected acute promyelocytic leukemia, disseminated intravascular coagulation, and thrombotic microangiopathic anemias.
