Overview:
This talk will provide a concise overview of critical hematological emergencies encountered in clinical practice including “acute promyelocytic leukemia, and microangiopathic hemolytic anemia”.
Learning Objectives:

Become familiar with the morphologic and flow cytometric spectrum of malignant promyelocytes.

Learn the current recommendations of identifying and reporting schistocytes.
-
Be able to recommend appropriate additional testing in suspected acute promyelocytic leukemia, disseminated intravascular coagulation, and thrombotic microangiopathic anemias.
